Emily Bachert
Emily Bachert is an inspiring instructor and performer. She holds a Master of Music Education in Music Therapy and a Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from the University of Kansas, where she studied with Dr. Stephanie Zelnick. Emily is featured on “American Landscapes,” a recording of American wind ensemble music with the Naxos label. Performance appearances include Carnegie Hall in March 2013 with the University of Kansas Wind Ensemble and playing with the Lawrence City Band.
Emily teaches privately, offers clinics, and coaches chamber ensembles in the Lawrence area. Experience includes directing Encore Fine Arts ensembles and classes, substitute music director for Veritas Christian School, and assistant directing band at South Middle School. Through each of these endeavors, Emily has had experience teaching individuals of all ages and abilities in both private and group settings.
In addition to her performance and teaching experience, Emily is a board-certified music therapist. Experiences include working in early intervention and academic settings focusing on behavioral and educational goals. Emily incorporates her skills in music therapy with teaching to provide adaptive music lessons for students with special needs.
Emily believes strongly in the encouragement, guidance, and instruction of a private teacher to assist students in reaching their full potential. She provides energetic and valuable instruction to each student she encounters.
